Lawn Care Service FAQ's

Are your products safe for my family and pets?

Yes. All products are EPA-tested, approved, and certified. Our applications are performed by licensed technicians in accordance with product labels, while adhering to industry best practices.

How long should we stay off the lawn after a treatment?

To ensure safety for kids and pets, we ask that you wait for at least a few hours after liquid treatments to let them out on the lawn. As a general rule, and according to the label, it’s safe for reentry after the liquid formulations dry.

When can I mow after a treatment?

Ideally, wait 24 hours. However, it is safe to mow once liquid formulations have dried.

What if I notice weeds between treatments?

If weeds persist, we'll re-treat after 14 days (upon your request), at no extra charge.

How often are lawn treatments applied?

Treatments are typically applied every 5-6 weeks, from April-October.

What if it rains after an application?

Rain will activate granular products, and get them working immediately. Liquid formulations contain a surfactant (sticking agent), which allows weed control to be effective in light-rain conditions.

How often should I water my lawn?

Most lawns need about 1 inch of water per week. You should irrigate for longer durations, but less frequently, to help encourage deeper root growth for a healthier, more drought-tolerant lawn.

Does your Lawn Care program protect my lawn from grubs?

Yes, all of our Lawn Care Programs include a grub preventer.

What’s the difference between pre- and post-emergent herbicides?
  • Pre-emergent herbicides help to prevent crabgrass & weed seed from germinating.

  • Post-emergent herbicides eliminate crabgrass & weeds that are actively growing.

Both may have residual effects to continue preventing new weed growth.

How long does it take for lawn care to show results?

You may start to see improvement in as little as a few days, as well as continual improvements throughout the season.  However, lawn care is a process, and could take 1-2 seasons for your lawn to reach its full potential.

What are the benefits of plant health care?

It promotes healthier growth, better bloom cycles, resistance to disease and insects, and improved overall appearance.

What rate is seed applied at?
  • Overseeding is typically performed at a rate of  4 lbs per 1,000 sq ft.

  • New seeding is typically performed at a rate of  8 lbs per 1,000 sq ft.
How long do aeration cores last?

Depending on conditions, cores typically break down in 1-3 weeks, and act as a natural topdressing, creating an excellent seedbed.

Why should I aerate & overseed instead of just aerating?

Aeration alone is great for reducing compaction and breaking up thatch. If your lawn is thin, patchy, or in need of repair, overseeding in addition to aeration may be the best way to fill in bare areas and restore your lawn.

What are the benefits of aeration?
  • Breaks up thatch
  • Reduces soil compaction
  • Improves water, air, and nutrient flow

  • Creates drought tolerance

  • Prepares an ideal seedbed for overseeding
Why does your program include 6 applications?

Our 6-visit program is tailored to our region, and is continually refined for optimal results. Each application provides timely nutrients and specific controls for weeds and pests when they are most vulnerable.

Why is aeration & overseeding recommended in the fall?

Fall offers ideal weather and soil conditions for aeration & seeding. Grass germinates well in the fall, and still has the entire spring to establish deeper root systems before the summer heat sets in.

Lawn Mowing FAQ's

How often do you mow?

Mowing is typically performed once per week, with an average season consisting of approximately 28 visits.

Will I have the same crew each week?

Yes, typically the same team will service your property on a weekly basis.

What kind of mowers do you use?

All crews are equipped with 20” push mowers, 36” walk-behind mowers, and 60” zero-turn mowers. Equipment is chosen based on your property’s specific needs.

How do you ensure proper mowing height?

Our mower decks are calibrated regularly, and mowing height is adjusted based on turf type, time of year, and conditions.

How should I prepare for mowing service?

Please remove toys, pet waste, and other objects from the lawn, while ensuring any gates are unlocked.

How is mowing service billed?

Why mow weekly?

Do you bag grass clippings?

No, clippings are mulched and left on the lawn to return nutrients to the soil. During periods of heavy growth, double-cutting may be performed (at no additional charge) to aid in the dispersal of clippings.

Why do I need to clear the yard before service?

To prevent equipment and property damage, and to ensure all areas can be serviced effectively.
